Aquariums By Design are passionate about creating natural Biotope Displays.

Some examples of our Biotope Displays are:

• The flooded Lagoons of Kakadu, NT,
• The African Rift Lakes of Malawi and Tanganyika,
• The flooded forests of the Amazon, home of the "Eartheaters"
• The Heavily Planted world of a Sri Lankan "Tank",
• The understated, yet facinating world of the Desert Goby,
• The deep water Cod holes of the Murray/Darling river system,
• The delicate world of the Blue-eyes,
• The leafy habitats of the Giant Tree Frog- Litoria Infrafrenata, and the common Green Tree Frog- Litoria Caerulea,
• The micro-habitat of the Dainty Green Tree Frog- Litoria Gracilenta,
• The Tide-washed Coral platform of the Great Barrier Reef.
• The riot of life and colour around a coral head.

The choices are almost unlimited. Our experience, enthusiasm and ideas always produce exciting displays!

Our aquarium installations are self-contained and their day to day operation is maintained automatically. However, a water-change and system check is required periodically, for which we have a full maintenance and service package available.

In the case of our Individual species habitats (frogs and the larger individual specimen fish) feeding must be undertaken by hand- as you can't dispense live food (crickets/feeder roaches etc.) with an automatic feeding unit.

For this we can teach the client how it is done, or we can offer a Feeding and Maintenance package which involves more frequent visits than our aquarium maintenance package.

*DNR regulations limit the display of all native Australian Snakes and Frogs to private home or office environments. These animals must be held under appropriate license and registered to a private individual.

The display of native snakes and frogs in public or corporate environments is limited to wildlife parks, zoos, sanctuaries and museums, accordingly licensed.
